Neopentilglycol (NPG), the commercial name of 2,2-dimethylpropane-1,3-diol, is a is a polyalcohol containing two primary alcoholic groups symmetrically bound to an atom of carbon. It can be sold in molten form, as 90% solution or in flakes.
